The Journey of a House

On April 19th, 2014 we closed on our house. We knew that we had a lot of work ahead of us, beginning with the floors and kitchen. Our budget was small so my husband did most of the work himself, bringing in the occasional expert. Over the last 6 years we've remodeled the kitchen, the kids bathroom, the master bath and closet, put in new floors and windows, painted the exterior and remodeled the swimming pool. We love our little house but what makes is worth all the work is our incredible neighbors; seriously we hit the jackpot.

When we purchased the house back in 2014 we had 1 child and an extra bedroom, however, that all changed when I got pregnant the very month we moved into the house. Now six years later we have 3 kids and I run a small clothing business from my home. To say the least, we've out grown our 1700 sq ft home. But we refuse to leave our beloved neighborhood. So here we are in 2020 making our biggest change yet. Over the next 5 months we will be giving this 1970s home a major face  lift. When it's all said and done our  house will be roughly 1,000 square feet bigger and every bit of it will be designed by us.

If you're interested in watching the process in action I'll be documenting the journey here. Below you will see the new elevation plan for the house. It's just a tad different then before ;)

Wish us luck and smooth construction vibes!
