Heirloom Summer Dress {tutorial}

Last summer my husband and I took our daughter to visit his family in Sweden. It was the first of many trips she'll ever take there. During our visit my husband's grandmother ask me if I wanted to look through her stash of lace and fabric that she had been holding onto but didn't think she'd ever get around to using. Among the items that she had been saving was handmade lace. I can't tell you how old this lace is but I can say that it is beautiful and delicate and special. This is why it makes me nervous to actually use it! However, it just seemed like the perfect little embellishment for this little dress...so I did!

Tie Closure Pillow Case {tutorial}

Ever want to make a pillow cover for a throw pillow but lack the confidence to add a zipper?
Or maybe you just like the added touch of the contrasting fabrics. Either way this pillow cover is just right for you! This pillow puts the P in easy peasy...so cheesy (hey that rhymes)!

Fabric Bunting {tutorial}

I have been seeing this stuff everywhere and every time I do I think it looks so cute!
I had no particular use for it but I just couldn't resist making it...I'm sure I'll find something to do with it ;)

I {heart} Rompers: Pattern Review

To me summer weather and little girls means it's time to breakout the ROMPERS! I was so happy when I came across this FREE tutorial though I had never ever tried to shirr anything before in my life. I thought, "How hard could it really be?" Well I soon found out!

Easy Summer Tote {tutorial}

This might possibly be the worlds easiest tote bag. It consists of two pieces of fabric and two stitches!
So enough with the chit-chat, let's get started!

Iced Cinnamon Dolce Latte {recipe}

I'm just going to put this out there...I'm a coffee-aholic. In fact I go so much that my 1 1/2 year daughter knows when I'm in the drive thru placing an order for my latte. How do I know? She shouts out "coffee!" when the lady hands me the cup and here's the kicker...she's in a rear facing carseat!

In an effort to save a whole lot of money I make lattes at home, all the time. And I just want to tell you that I don't make gross lattes like some other blog recipes I've tried. This one was so good my coffee-hating-husband took a sip and said "that's drinkable!" and then proceeded to drink 1/2 of it himself. I'd say that's a success. However, you must know that I make my lattes on the sweeter side, you can still taste the coffee but it's not the main flavor. If you like more coffee and less sweetness than do less of the syrup suggested. So here goes...

Ribbon Embellished Pillow {tutorial}

As you may know I'm still working little by little on freshening up my little girl's bedroom with some new fabrics and colors...yellows, grays, and corals to be exact. So I am always keeping my eyes peeled for anything with these colors and I just so happened to spot this great fabric in the sheets section at Target! I loved it so much that I bought a pillow case set and cut it up to make my own little pillow to add to the room.
I really didn't want to make a boring old 3 seam pillow so I got a little creative and added what I call a "ribbon", although I must have forgotten that when I put the text on the picture below...

Stamped Letters {tutorial}

I'll admit it, when I purchased these cardboard letters I had no intention of decorating them this way. I had every intention of covering them in fabric like many other tutorials I had seen done that way. However, as I began moving things around in my daughters room I put the letters up "temporarily" on her dresser naked of any fabric and I grew fonder and fonder of the cardboard texture and color. I then recalled a pin I can across on Pinterest where someone used crate paper and stamps to decorate it...which I loved! So it was decided that that's what I was going to do instead! I really like how they turned out.

Mini Table Cloth {tutorial}

Prior to our move from Colorado I was in love with my daughter's nursery...
I handmade her bedding, added wainscoting and a chair rail to the walls and had these gorgeous hardwood floors running throughout the house! To me it was just perfect...until we moved.
Since we are merely renters now in this temporary home I have no creative freedom when it comes to paint, flooring and certainly no wainscoting :( So when I moved all of my daughter's furniture into her new room it just didn't look right. It didn't look cute anymore, just plain boring. So I decided to spruce it up with some new fabrics and decor as well as add a few more toddler-esk features. Now that my little one is becoming more imaginative in her play I figured it's a good time to bust out the pint-size table and chairs.
They've seen better days and need some lovin'...here's where I've begun.

Sweet as a Berry Little Girl Dress {tutorial}

With Valentine's day lurking around the corner it's only natural for a blogger like myself to begin thinking of cute ways to incorporate the holiday. When I came across this strawberry fabric I fell in love with it's sweetness and decided that I would make my daughter a Valentine's day inspired dress. You may remember my Valentine's day inspired onesie from last year...Now if only my daughter would get up and walk in it instead of scoot around on her booty getting the beautiful fabric all dirty! Sigh...someday!

Kindle Paper White Case {tutorial}

It's official, I've been shoved into the next generation of readers. It happened Christmas morning when my husband grabbed a somewhat peculiar gift out from under the tree and handed it to me, a look of incertitude on his face. I had just told him days before how much I enjoyed reading from books, particularly the ability to put a book marker in it and see just how much I have left, obviously unattainable with an electrical devise. So I ripped off the wrapping to reveal an Amazon box and I knew from that very box what I was about to find inside. My thoughts swirling around in my head...do I act overjoyed? Disappointed? Bewildered? Somehow I think I managed all of the above. My husband, feeling like a true failure, says "I think you'll be surprised at how much you like it!" Well all I can say is...(and honey you might want to remember this one cause you may never hear it again ;) he.was.right. I love it. This devise that is putting book stores out of business. This devise that doesn't have a beautiful cover with lovely colors and a wonderful typeface to draw my in. This devise that...that...is so lightweight, compact, back lit in the dark, tells me exactly how long I have until the end of the chapter & the book, allows me to read in bed on my side without awkward hand positions or cramping, remembers what page I was on and best of all defines words for me on the spot! My husband said "You'll never want to pick up a book again." How could I?!? Oh Kindle Paper White...you've got me.

So I figured if I was going to keep it I might as well make a cute case for it right?
